Golf Tournament – Tuesday, May 23

 This year’s tournament will be held at the Colbert Hills Golf Course. The form will be a best-ball competition in four-person teams playing one round of 18 holes. We will have a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. with lunch and prizes afterwards at the clubhouse.

  • Please mark the appropriate box on the online registration form located at the CHECK website http://check2006.check.gen.ks.us/. If you have a team, submit the names of the foursome; or if you need a team, submit your name to Ernie Perez, ern@ksu.edu.
  • The cost of the tournament is $68.00 per player. You may pay via the online conference registration form.

Tournament Essentials

  • Register early. If you don’t have a team of four, sign up anyway and we’ll put you with a group.
  • Cost - $68.00 includes green fees, prizes, box lunch and one cart for every two players
  • Prizes – Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, and Team Score (1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd.)

Tournament Play Rules

  • Best-Ball. All players card their own scores. The lowest individual score on each hole is used to determine the team score. Keep individual scores on every hole.
  • Hole yardage range from 150 to 564 yards.
  • Shotgun start. Each team will start on a different hole at 8:00 a.m. and play around the course once. We should be finish before noon.
  • Longest drive must be in the fairway, on the fringe, or on the green. If multiple players are on the green, closest to the pin wins.

 

Tournament Policies

  • Dress Code: Proper golf attire must be worn at all times. Appropriate dress includes golf shoes (soft spikes only) or smooth soled shoes, collared shirt, slacks or Bermuda length shorts. Work jeans, undershirt, gym shorts, tank tops, halter-tops cutoffs, short shorts, work out clothes, and attire of similar are inappropriate.
  • Golf Equipment: Each golfer must have a set of clubs. Sharing of clubs is not permitted. Rental bags are available on a limited basis @ $30.00 a set. Please Let Ernie Perez know if you will need a rental set.
  • Golf Carts: Golf carts are mandatory. No more than two riders and two golf bags are permitted per golf cart. Children who do not have a valid driver’s license or under the age of sixteen are not permitted to drive golf carts.
  • Conduct: The tournaments group is responsible for proper conduct while on the golf course property. The tournament is responsible for obeying the daily cart path rules, replacing divots, and repairing ball marks on the green and raking sand traps. Unruly behavior, foul language, throwing of clubs, hitting shots into groups will not be tolerated. All golfers will be expected to adhere to proper golf etiquette including ready golf.
  • Golf Tournament: The player list and handicaps (if applicable) must be provided to the golf course no less than two days before the event.
  • Pace of Play: Groups must play their event in 5 hours or less. All players expected to play ready golf. All players are to keep pace with the group ahead of them. Marshals are on the course to ensure speed of play.
